In early summer, when the warm sunshine frees the last of the mountain meadows from their blankets of snow, the farm animals are herded up to graze on the Alpine pastures, as is the tradition in these parts. This is also the time when numerous mountain huts open their doors to enthusiastic hikers. The Stubai Valley has a vast network of hiking trails like no other.

Whether you are a keen mountaineer or leisurely hiker, there is something for everyone here! Of course, our mountains present an exciting challenge for mountain bikers too. So many Alpine pastures and huts are accessible via wide forest tracks. On particularly hot days, the many lakes in the Stubai Valley provide the perfect spot to relax.

Hiking & Mountaineering

Numerous trails & paths in the Schlick 2000 invite to enjoy exploration tours with the whole family. There are also themed trails, such as the Besinnungsweg trail (contemplation trail) or the Stubaier Höhenweg (altitude trail) to experience the breath-taking scenery in the Stubai Valley.

Running & Walking

Everyone, from beginner to pro, can explore the Stubai Valley in running shoes. The Run & Walk Park Stubai offers 10 different running routes with 8 different starting points with a total length of 80 kilometres.

Mountain Biking & Cycling

Approximately 750km of cycling trails ensure great fun in the summer. Moreover, there are 11 electric bike rental station and 12 battery swapping stations. The Bike Akademie in the Adventurepark Fulpmes and the Bikepark Tirol complete the programme.

Climbing

10 crags and high-ropes courses as well as 15 via ferratas provide for climbing fun at all levels of difficulty. We recommend a visit of the Adventure Park in Fulpmes, the Tyrol’s biggest high-ropes course. Fun for the whole family is guaranteed.

Paragliding & Hang-Gliding

Thanks to the exceptional thermal conditions, paragliders and hang-gliders enjoy excellent conditions in the Stubai Valley. The impressive landscape and the view of one of the Seven Summits invite pros and novices to enjoy active holidays. Several aviation schools offer introductory courses and tandem flights.

Stubai Glacier

In the summer you can enjoy a fantastic view from the Stubai Alps to the Dolomites from the TOP OF TYROL (3,210) summit platform. The Jochdochle, Austria’s highest-located mountain restaurant, also invites to enjoy a break.

Leisure & culture

Even if the weather is not conducive to outdoor activities, there is absolutely no reason for you to be bored. The convenient location of the Stubai Valley makes it easy to visit various small towns with charming historical centres. In particular, our capital, Innsbruck, (just 20 minutes away by car) offers a variety of cultural highlights.

There are also numerous stores and shopping centres inviting you on a stroll of the city. In addition, you will find an abundance of castles and historic buildings not far from the Stubai Valley. In Fulpmes itself, there are two beautiful churches to visit. In addition, the Nativity Crib Museum in the village displays wonderful examples of craftsmanship and tradition.
